I really appreciate all the support , likes and follows you have given me on this blog! However this blog is not my passion! My true passion is photography and I started up my Amy lee Photography Fan page on Facebook in 2012 and have worked hard ever since to help it grow!
I am in my second session at Uni and learning a lot of thing and coming across some awesome opportunities! I hope you would follow me on my other social media accounts! I may even start up a blog linked to my photography website in the future!

Book Reading !

I’m not much of a reader or writer hence why setting out to start a blog was a big thing! So this is no major plot line review. I never use to read novels for fun only ones i was forced to by school! However last year I read three books! This is huge for me!!

All three books were by John green due to hype around The fault in our stars! I finished that book in one day! It was pretty good Easy read because I knew the story line already but hadn’t seen the film yet! I’ve seen the film now and it was pretty good didn’t ruin the book for me!

I also read Looking for Alaska and An abundance of Katherines out of the two of them the second was my favourite! Much easier read I found Looking for Alaska to be a slow read!

Due to completing these books I have two more of John Greens books that I would love to have read by the end of this year! Not sure if this is going to happy but heres hoping! I have Paper Towns and Let it snow to read!

Favourite Lipsticks colours!

As I have mentioned in a previous post I do not like wearing lipstick so this post will be brief! But there are some occasions I feel it suits and enhances and outfit ! So here are my two go to colours! Your classic red and a burgundy !!

The burgundy is by Rimmel Number 120 Cutting edge! Let me mention I hate the smell so much!!!

I use lipliners with both lipsticks because it makes them wear longer, looks neater and more opaque! I use the Maxfactor Red rush number 10 and Rimmel 017 Cherry kiss which I think is an amazing colour!

Camera Collection!

I have always wanted to collect old cameras in the hope I can use one and or display them! The brand I’m focusing on collecting is Kodak!

My very first camera was a pink digital Kodak. Oh it was so sad the day it broke! I was a trip with my school for a week we had just arrived to our first destination and I went to take a picture and the camera just stopped working mind you I had had it for 4 years!

I so far have a two box brownies one being the Six -20 was one of the first cameras ever mass produced! This one in particular was a model realised in the 1940’s! there have been earlier ones! Originally cameras like this cost only $2 from my knowledge how crazy!

While the Brownie 127 camera was introduced in the 1950’s it is said to be one of kodaks most popular cameras made which is insane! It cost around $5!

The kodak 400 and the Instamatic camera I don’t have a lot of knowledge about ! One was a gift from my Brother in law. The instamatic still has some film in it so I might just get it developed and try that one out !

Eyebrow Maintenance!

Quick post for you all on how I maintain my eyebrows super simple and affordable!

My brows aren’t anything special I try and keep them as natural as possible I learnt the hard way that natural is best but lets not go there! Haha. Thought I would share with you the few products that have helped my brows look better with and without makeup on!

Firstly I’m in love with my Beauty Case tweezers! They are easy to hold and have a great angle to them! To remove those stray unwanted hairs !! I then comb my eyebrows down with my Real Technique brush and trim the long hairs with my scissors. I repeat this step but brush up!

Makeup wise I use the Rimmel professional eyebrow pencil in Hazel 002. I like slightly dark brows! The good thing about this pencil is that it cost less then $10 and last for ever! Finally I use a clear mascara or brow gel to set my eyebrows in place it honestly makes a different to how your brows look! Hope this helps!

High-end Makeup Vs Drugstore!

I was never one to want to spend more then $30 on a makeup product but even that for me is a bit pricy! I’d rather buy a dress worth $60 that I can wear many times then a product that will run out after 3 months!! I found a good website online that had a few specials on Napoleon Perdis makeup!

I have been using The Auto Pilot primer by Napoleon Perdis primer for three years now. It was the only high end makeup product I had in my collection. I didn’t know primers existed until I got my makeup done for my year 10 formal and they used it on me! It really helped my makeup to stay on!! Bonus it smells nice and is so smooth!! but cost $59 but can last me close to a year you don’t need a lot!

After my Year 12 formal I decided to purchase a foundation from Napoleon Perdis! I brought the foundation stick in Look 1! I like how light it is and you can build it up! However in summer I will avoid wearing it ! It does not last in this heat! In general it doesn’t last all day! It would be an Decent foundation for a night event! But currently I use it to cover spots on my face! Another reason I do not love it is because the colour is kind of off on me looks a bit orange!! the foundation stick cost $65 so I do not think It’s worth it!!

I decide to go on the hunt for cheaper alternatives in particular a foundation that is light enough for my pale skin form the drugstore!! Prior I was using a covergirl foundations the lightest shade was way too yellow for my skin! So I found Rimmel lasting finish foundation which is under $20 and the lightest shade makes it look like i’m not even wearing any makeup!!! It’s perfect! Great full coverage!

They had a matching primer which was under $15 it smells not so nice but is thicker then my last primer and honestly really helps keep my makeup on! Both products have not broken me out and I have really oily pimple prone skin!  Defiantly sticking to this combo for a while now!

Most the products I use are Rimmel I even use the Wake Me Up concealer which is awesome because my eye area is usually sensitive to products! I also use the Rimmel Stay Matte powder with my duo-fibre real techniques face brush! This just holds everything in place and reduced my oiliness!

Marc Jacobs perfume!!

My obsession is Marc Jacobs perfume !!! Love them so much! I want to get more variations of the daisy perfume especially the fresh one! I get at least one new one each year since I discovered they existed haha!

My favourite is Dot ! Its so yummy smelling !! I actually highly dislike the original Daisy perfume I rarely ever wear it! The daisy dream is a slightly diluted version of it so its perfect! I haven’t really worn the honey one much its slightly strong too i’m more of a fruity floral scent person!!

Aesthetics is probably the reason why I love these perfumes even more !!

Photoshoot!

Short blog this week!! This was a shoot I did with my older sister Sophie about 6 months ago! I love doing photoshoots and portrait work! Usually I’m more focused on nature but its great to change it up! So I thought I would share a few pictures with you all from that shoot if you haven’t already checked them out on my photography page!!

Hair Care!!

I thought I would follow up last weeks post with my haircare products! You can look back in my post and find my hair journey post where I talked about dying my hair! I naturally have wavy curly hair! its very thick and because its curly can get a bit dry on the ends quicker then normal in between hair cuts!

I have had a lot of issues with shampoo and finding ones that i’m not allergic to and that doesn’t make my hair knotty! I also have blonde dye in my hair so I have to take that into mine with my hair care products!!

Shampoo: KMS colour vitality its a purple shampoo but not one that will necessarily help my colour blonde but it makes my hair soft and its nice so I have stuck with it !!

Toner: I use a Goldwell foam toner in the colour 10GB which is what my hair dresser used to tone my hair after she died it. I use this every month or so i find my hair goes brassy in colour very quickly!

Conditioner: I also use the KMS colour vitality. I also use a Schwarzkopf hair mask no preference on which one they have a couple just what ever the store has when I need it! its a really good deep conditioner for my hair! After the shower in towel dried hair I also use Schwarzkopf leave in condition and spray it in my hair and wrap my hair but up in my towel to dry this helps my curls curl nicely!! I never use a blow dryer on my hair unless i’m going to an event and have had to wash my hair before hand!

Styling: I always use a heat protectant I believe it is super important. I use to use a Schwarzkopf one but ran out and recently picked up VO5 one which is super nice smells good and leave my hair super soft and not greasy!!!
In the case i haven’t washed my hair or its looking a bit flat I use Batiste dry shampoo the original its a great dry shampoo I have tried a Schwarzkopf one before but didn’t work very well!
Also to add a bit of life and hold to my hair I use KMS hair play texture spray its awesome!!! I don’t like using hair spray as it makes my hair super knotty and frizzy!! So this is the perfect!

My Skincare Products!

For a year or so I was really lazy with looking after my skin! I have always gotten bad breakouts and I have really oily skin! So I really need to look after it with the right skincare to keep it from flaring it up! So I added a few new products to my routine!

Cleanser: I use an all skin type Cetaphil cleanser! Its perfect doesnt aggravate my skin just washes off the surface dirt and makeup from the day! I don’t use the oil one because one it smells bad and two it actually doesn’t help it anymore then this one does!

Exfoliant: I use the Bioderma Sebium. Fairly pricy but got it on special at Priceline. Totally worth the money this product CHANGED my skin! I have a lot of blackheads on my face and this clears them so well and decreases the possibility of larger breakouts! You only need a tiny bit and is very fine so doesn’t hurt your skin. Its amazing! I use to use a Nivea one but it does not even compare!

Toner: Nivea Refreshing toner is great I use it with a cotton pad to get off any left over makeup on my face after cleansing! Just a nice refreshing step!

Face Mask: Formula 10.0.6 Deep Down detox I tend to use after I have exfoliated so only a couple times a week! its a mud mask that you leave on for like 15 minutes and really refreshes your face and helps along side the exfoliant product i use to get all the dirt out of your face! High recommend this they have loads of mask for different “outcomes”.

Moisturiser: I use the Cetaphil one but actually thinking of switching it up! But for now I have a huge bottle to finish it does the job 🙂

Pimple cream: This product changed my life Benzac AC It has benzoyl peroxide in it I use the 2 1/2%. As my spots are not that bad anymore I use to use a 5% but as my skin got better it was too strong and this product can have side affects of swelling redness and drying out of the skin. You have to be super careful where you put it and was your hands after use. It does bleach clothing and is not good if you go out in the sun with it on! But honestly helps reduce pimples so quickly! You can get it from Priceline. But read the instructions that come with it super important!!

Thats it !! Thats all I use on my skin I don’t usually wash my face with product in the morning just water but I moisturiser so my makeup sits well!
